The Normandale Years and Beyond

The working title for this drawing was "Metallica at 40", circa 1988
This drawing came up after a conversation I had with a good friend. We were joking about what some of our favorite musicians will look like when they turned 40. The sad thing is that the musicians in question are now in their 50s and I am now in my 40s! It is worth noting the drummer for Metallica did eventually go bald;-) Again, I based this drawing on a photo from the Star Tribune -which I still have after all these years.

 • Two Old Men (Unfinished), circa 1988
Those who know me know that I am an unapologetic liberal. However, when I was younger, I was a republican. My politics changed when I started living on my own. I started to see how republican policies effected people. The reason why I stopped working on this image was because I spilled some food on George H.W. Bush's face (I think its spagetti sauce). Anyway, its a decent drawing of Ronald Reagan. I think the original image was a photograph from Newsweek.

 • Bottles
One of my favorites. It's very light compared to my other drawings. Simple but strong lines. However, the shadows are incorrect! The shadow for the bottle in the foreground is behind it and to the left, while the shadow for the other bottle is in front of it. I think this is because I drew this piece over the course of two days and moved the light source - oops! This piece is now on display at my Aunt and Uncles.
