This is a ranch that was owned by the Chicago merchant. It was located just north of Leigh, Nebraska. To the best of my knowledge, Marshall Field's never stayed here. The ranch was managed by my Great Great Grandfather, Thomas Mortimer. In 1909 Thomas Mortimer bought out the Field's interest. It stayed my family for anothe half century.
Because of the age of this image, my mother refused to let me take the image out of frame, so I had to scan the image still in its frame. Also, since the original image is about 3 1/2 feet long, I had to scan this imge in sections and then use photoshop to put the separate sections back together.
To the best of my knowledge, there is only one original print left in existence.Stanton Breeding Farm
